Sale Volunteers are an essential part of having a successful sale event. It will take many people to ensure that our event runs smoothly. The more kokua we have, the better we can take care of our customers and our merchandise. We would love to have you on our team. All of our workers are volunteers, it’s a great way to get terrific deals and make new friends. We will absolutely depend on you guys to help coordinate such an exciting event and want to show our mahalo by rewarding volunteers with special perks. Mommy Swap Meet offers several volunteer opportunities. If you are an expecting mom or have special needs, please let us know. There will be help needed which require little to no standing. Please indicate this when registering to volunteer so we can accommodate you as best as possible.
What’s involved in volunteering?
As a worker you will be helping to check in products, arrange products on the sales floor, sort clothes, tag merchandise and general help with shoppers during sale hours. It's not hard work but may involve some light lifting. Plus you get to meet people, make a new friend or two, and, of course, have fun in the process. We’ve also listed some other areas of volunteering we will need help with. If there is any other way that you think you can help with our event and it’s not mentioned below or in the volunteer schedule please don’t hesitate to contact us. You can proceed to register for your shifts now if you like.
- Check in/ consignor item inspection – the quality of items we sell will determine the success of this and future events. This position is very important. We need volunteers who will pay special attention to detail and the quality of all items submitted (stains, tears and overall worn looking submissions).
- Floor Patrol – checking receipts and monitoring organizing merchandise, and assisting shoppers.
- Organizing drop off and pick of items – Before during and after the event merchandise will need to be in their designated areas to keep an organized easy to shop event. After the event we will need to sort and disperse remaining items not being donated back to the consignors.
- Assistance with Check-out.

Post Flyers
We need people to post flyers. Please inquire within for our current needs. For this wonderful service you will earn a presale pass. Here's how it works:
Post 200 flyers:
- In your subdivision. Check with us first to make sure this area wasn't already canvassed. To get credit for posting the flyers notify us when of when and where you plan to do so that we can follow up and then credit you for the task!! We ask that flyers only be placed on or by doors (placing it in your neighbors hands is even better yet!!).
- ***Placing flyers in or on mailboxes come with too much liability so, Mommy Swap Meet will not be distributing or requesting anyone to distribute flyers in that way. ***
- Hang your flyers in kid oriented places such as daycares, play places, pre-schools, women's exercising facilities, or any other business you frequent. Be sure the flyer is hung before you leave the store (unfortunately businesses fail to follow through with actually hanging the flyer).
Refreshments
Volunteers get hungry and we need help feeding them. Sign up to bring snacks or drinks to your shift. For this bonus act of volunteerism you will receive a guest pass to have a friend accompany you at our VIP Pre-Sale Event.
Heavy Duty Jobs (some muscle required)
Another way to earn your presale/volunteer perks is to volunteer someone else…seriously!! We have several volunteer opportunities for strong willing and able MEN and WOMEN. Jobs may include set up/ tear down, loading/ unloading of racks, tables, etc. We may need some help with security (monitoring the sales floor, checking receipts at the door, etc), lifting furniture and other unseen jobs!! This would be an excellent way to recruit your hubby, father, uncle, brother, teenage son or anyone else with a nice pair of strong arms and legs.
Trade Out Opportunities
You may be eligible for a volunteer pass and/or advertising on our website if you have connections with a printer, local advertising (radio station/charter media/newspapers) or can help with the transportation of racks and tables (large truck).
